Karate and Ice Cream

Tonight we went to Noah's karate class and he once again won two matches!! It was lots of fun to watch. Afterwards, I made the kids chocolate milkshakes-earlier I had offered to buy him a dessert, but he told me I made the best ones and he just wanted me to make one!! Aaaahhh, how sweet!!! Lukas lamb came along too!!
Lukas Lamb
This is Lukas Lamb, he's the mascot for Abby's preschool class. They just started a thing where the kids take turns bringing him home for the weekend and document in a journal what he does with them. We just got him today and so far he's been to Target and for a nap in the car with Abby, I wonder where he'll go next!! (That's ketchup all over Abby's face, boy her mom needs to really clean her up!!)
Happy Birthday Noah
Well today's my boy's Birthday. I made him cupcakes to take to school and I went at lunch time to sit with him and see all his friends enjoy the lovely cupcake I made him. He was so cute!! I bought him an outfit to wear to his party on Saturday and he wanted to wear it today as well, so I let him. I also got him a special Birthday ribbon with Lightning McQueen on it to wear on his shirt!! Tonight he has karate and we're all going to watch (he loves it when we're all there) and he's going to be sparring, so I'm taking the camera this time (last time he kicked some serious butt, well padded and protected butt). I can't wait for the party, it's going to be so much fun!! Here's some pics from lunch today

Reminiscing

Well tomorrow is Noah's 7th Birthday. Part of me is a bit sad but most of me is happy for him!! Seven just seems like such a big kid to me. It's official my baby ain't so baby anymore!! I can't believe weve gotten to this point already. I've always been the type of person who inwardly is just sobbing everytime they do something that moves them further ahead toward adulthood (school, sports, even potty training!!) but outwardly I"m excited for them to being new things. I mean with the school thing, I'm very happy for him to be there making lots of friends, learning so much and just having a ton of fun (I really enjoyed school and I'm glad he gets to experience that), but at the same time I sort of morn for the days when we all just stayed home and played and sat on the couch together and sometimes even kept our pj's on all day!! I know I still have the summer and being a fan of the fall and winter, it took this to make me look forward to those awful hot months!!! He's such a wonderful boy and I'm so proud of him!! It's not all sadness I feel, because now there's so many cool things we can all do as a family and I love that. We can all ride some of the bigger rides at Disney together now, we took the kids tubing on Laurel Lake in Kentucky last summer and you can't do that with a baby or little toddler. I love the age they're at now, but I do still miss some of the sweetness of days gone by!! So tomorrow, he's seven and then after seven short more years, he'll be 14 aaaaaaahhhhhhh!! I just pray that with age, he doesn't lose the things I love so much about him now. But no matter what, he'll always be my little bugaboo (even when he has to look down to see into my eyes!!) except now I should probably just shorten it to Bug, that sounds a bit more manly!!!

When the mom's are away!!!
We had a total blast this weekend!! It is so nice to get away just for a day or so and then come home to your family. I feel like I appreciate them so much more when I come home after being gone for awhile. I really did miss them a lot (all three of them), but I really enjoyed my weekend as well. Oh and the deals we found this weekend!! First at Goodwill (Hello, $.40 childrens books) and then at the outlets (hello $8.50 for men's Tommy Hilfiger polos). It was so nice to meet Lura and Charity and Lura's family. They were all such wonderful people. I adored Lura's boys, they are just so cute and funny!! I really appreciated all that Sonya and Lura did for me this weekend, esecially just inviting me and then the hotel room and the monkey bread!! I loved being able to just laugh my head off for a few hours (which seemed to go by way too fast!!) with some really cool girls!! Thanks so much!!
